Olympian Makes Light of Recreational Use of Xanax

I love the Olympics, I love everything about them, whether it the winter games or the summer games! They literally touch my soul. Those athletes are Americans and it’s like watching a member of our own families participate. It brings great joy to us all.

But……here comes Adam Rippon, the figure skater who by the way had an unbelievable performance. It really made me proud. Then he opened his mouth! When NBC’s Andrea Joyce interviewed him about his emotions after his program, he said, and I quote, “I want to throw up, I want to go over to the judges and say ‘can I just have a Xanax and a quick drink?’ Adam, you are a fantastic figure skater but you don’t have the brains God gave a worm!

Does this idiot realize how many kids heard that, not to mention how many millions of adults? When does being an athlete give them free reign to say anything they want, especially when they haven’t the faintest idea how much potential damage their words can bring? There is some kid out there who worships this guy and wants to be just like him and he or she is probably thinking if Adam Rippon can use a Xanax or have a drink after a performance, why can’t I? The fact is, he’s a twenty something that has more talent than brains. Does he not read the news? Does he not see the drug crisis we have here in the United States? I know I spend a lot of time on the opioid crisis, but as I have stated before, we haven’t yet seen the total disaster that is coming our way as it pertains to Benzodiazepines like Xanax and valium. It’s far more addictive and destructive and one of the most dangerous drugs to get off of. You can literally die from Xanax withdrawal.

People like Adam Rippon have no idea of the total destruction Xanax causes. Now you mix it with alcohol and you will have a whole new set of problems you may not walk away from.

Hey Adam, why don’t you come to Fresno and sit in on a family support meeting and let the families I work with explain to you what they have been through with their kids with Xanax and alcohol.

Maybe then you will think before you speak!
